Our advocate for the innovative Sesame Therapy in Spain is Laura Amaia Leoz Wilce, Sesame therapist, social pedagogue, and co-creator of the group Leyendas Del Alma (LDA).

Before training as a therapist, she lived in Camphill communities in Ireland and Scotland, where she lived and worked with adults with special needs. In Scotland, she studied Social Pedagogy and joined an amateur theatre group made up of members of varying abilities. That experience led her to witness the change that drama can produce in a person, both in herself and in others. Looking for a way to unite her two passions, she found the master’s degree in Sesame Drama and Movement Therapy in London.

She returned to the Basque Country to bring her experiences and studies to those to whom they might be useful and to help spread the importance of mental health care. As part of the group Leyendas del Alma she spreads awareness of Sesame Therapy throughout Spain, especially through their Instagram account @leyendas_del_alma

To keep her creativity alive, she dances whenever she can and takes every opportunity to walk through the beautiful landscapes that the Basque Country offers.
